Reservations/Prices Fishing Information

Inshore, Bay, and Flats Sportfishing is quite a lot of fun. For those of you that have not fished the inshore, you should try it, you may be surprised. Much of the offshore trips are not as long as many would think. We will guide you in whatever fish you wish to catch. Many of the fish you would find offshore, are at times in the bay or near shore. Some of the smaller fish that are teriffic table fare, are also a pretty good fight on light line. Basically, the fish consist of:

REDFISH, which are a great fighting fish, and will fight you all the way to the boat. They are very good blackened, or grilled with a little lemon pepper.

SNOOK, in season. Quite a great fight. They put all of they're energy in the fight immediately. The fight may not be as long, but a crazy fight can be expected. They are also great table fare.

SPECKLED TROUT, which put up a good fight on lite line and the fillets are great fried, broiled, or on the grill.

KINGFISH, Spring, Summer, and late Fall in the bay and near shore. These fish have been given a bad name by being cut into steaks and cooked with all the bone, fat, oils, and skin. If the proper time is taken to clean them right (which we ALWAYS do), they are a very fair flavored fish and come out white. They can be fried with cornmeal breading, whole wheat breading, or cooked over the grill with a little lemon pepper. Try it, you will be happily surprised with quite a beautiful meal. These fish will normally run from 10 to 30 pounds, but we have caught many from 40 to 50 pounds, and one huge one just under 70 pounds, the largest one we have seen come out of the Gulf.

COBIA, Spring, Summer, and late Fall. A GREAT fight, and a long fight. These fish are beautiful white meat and you will enjoy them any way you wish to cook them.

SHARK, in the Bay. We have several species of shark which will be in the bay and inshore. Mostly Bull, Blacktip, Blacknose, Great Hammerhead, Spinner, and Dog Tooth. They are all good eating, but we prefer the Bull, Blacktip, and Blacknose. They are a great fight and you can show off the teeth when you get home.

SPANISH MACKERAL, in the passes and bay. These fish are a hearty fight and very FAST. They are in the passes and near shore during most of the year and on the flats when the white bait and glass minnows are in.

SHEEPSHEAD, at the docks and bridges. These great eating fish are with us in the winter, and hang out wherever there are crustations on the docks and bridge pillars. They make great table fare.

There are many other species in the offshore not mentioned here, but you will find them in the pictures (thumbs 1 to 8).
