How the Music Is Made

We have been swamped with questions on how the album music is put togather with one person. Well, actually it is made in somewhat the same way many other recordings are made, with the exception of personel. RW, after writing the song, lays down a rythmn track, which may consist of drum track, with bass and piano or brass section, sometimes the bass is added on another track later. But the rest of the tracks are laid down, one at a time until the arrangement is full. The basic instrument that starts the whole thing is a KORG PA50, and sometimes a Fender lead guitar, and sometimes the guitar tracks are added with the KORG. After the original arrangement of the rythmn tracks are down, choral, strings (sometimes more than one track for choral and strings are done), are put togather. Many times there are a large number of tracks to edit.

The brass instruments such as, Sax, Trumpet, Brass Section, and many other smaller parts are all placed on the track with the KORG. The harmonica also is played on the KORG. The recording and other operations are done with three computers and recorded on SONAR 3. The mix is often to mp3 format.

Then when he feels like the arrangement is full, he starts the mix down process. This sometimes takes a long time to produce a perfect arrangement, but to him, it is worth it to have something that he thinks truly expresses what he wrote. We hope you enjoy the music and that it brings laughter, comfort, or something important to your lives.
